Liam will be travelling to Germany this month for CMT Stuttgart 2014, the world’s largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure, taking place from 11-19 January. Oideas Gael will be represented there, along with the Fáilte Ireland team, to promote the Wild Atlantic Way, a brand new long-distance touring route stretching along the Atlantic Coast from Donegal to Cork.
We’re always grateful to our friends in continental Europe who come to Oideas Gael every year and we look forward to our visit to Stuttgart.
Drop in to the fair and say hello if you are in the area. Fáilte Ireland will be located in Hall 4, Stand D80.
More info on the Wild Atlantic Way coming soon!
Over the past few months the team behind Beo! – the monthly online magazine published by Oideas Gael – have been working on a new feature. From now on each edition will contain audio recordings of a small number of articles being read aloud in different dialects of Irish. Both professional readers and some of the writers themselves will make the recordings.
If you enjoy listening to podcasts you will enjoy this feature, and we hope that these recordings will also be of benefit both to learners and to those who would like to get better acquainted with the different dialects in Irish.
The articles we have published with this feature until now include:
Caint an tSráidbhaile: Is Fada an tÚll ón Úllort Acu
Caint an tSráidbhaile: Glacaimis Céim Eile Chun Tosaigh
Léirmheas: Leabhar Mór na nAmhrán
Dara Ó Cinnéide
Cill Chiaráin na Breataine Bige: Curachaí agus Clocha Oghaim
Pósadh Comhghnéis Dleathach in Canberra
Ollanach i nDiaidh na Féinne
San Nioclás Myra na Tuirce
Beo! was the first ever online magazine in Irish and has seen 152 editions since it was first published in 2001. You can access all of our published articles back to the first edition in our archive.
We will be adding a new section to Beo! in the New Year to gather these recordings together. There are plenty more new developments coming to Beo! in 2014 – keep reading!
